An international experience is a personal and professional growth opportunity for students to interact with a culture other than their own, to improve their cultural understanding, and to prepare for working more effectively in diverse cultural and business environments. International experience has been shown to increase graduates’ employability. It is particularly important in global industries such as the hospitality and real estate industries where communication skills, problem-solving skills, and service orientation are crucial for career success. This course is designed to encourage students to participate in international experience activities prior to graduation. These activities include overseas exchange, internship, study tour, volunteer/service learning projects, and other international learning activities.
